1887 Caligraph 2 Serial # 25346 1887 Caligraph 2 typewriter, Serial # 25346 Liam Templeton's 1887 Caligraph 2 typewriter. 2026-04-30 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Liam Templeton: 1887 Caligraph 2 Serial # 25346 I acquired this complete machine from a guy on Kijiji for a great deal. It was not functional when acquired, and it was somewhat rough, including rusted parts and a broken torsion spring. It was cosmetically ok, aside from some wrinkled and yellowed shellac and patches of worn paint. Shellac has been removed. It is now fully functional and nearly complete restoration; it will not undergo repainting/new graphics.

I am a young typewriter collector, based in Canada; I caught the bug when I came across a 1926 Underwood Standard No. 3 in an antique store, and was never able to get the darn thing out of my head. Since then, my collection has been rapidly growing. I especially like older machines, and I prefer restoring rough machines over hunting for perfect examples.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Caligraph 2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Caligraph Serial Number page and the Caligraph 2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
