189X Hammond Remodel Serial # 14546 189X Hammond Remodel typewriter, Serial # 14546 Lukas Klein's 189X Hammond Remodel typewriter. 2025-09-29 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Lukas Klein: 189X Hammond Remodel Serial # 14546 I discovered this machine on eBay classifieds. The machine was listed for €90 (negotiable). The ad had been online since August 10, 2025, and was viewed by 77 people viewed it. But no one was interested in this machine. I called the salesperson and drove there. That was on September 21, 2025, when I arrived at the salesperson's office. After a half hour drive, I was told that another person had inquired about the machine. I find it very strange that for a whole month no one was interested in this machine or bought it, and within half an hour two interested parties called the Saleswoman to buy the machine, that's crazy, but well, luck was on my side, if I had called the saleswoman only half an hour later, the other person would have most likely bought the Hammond. The saleswoman said, "Now it's up to you whether you want to buy it or The other person can buy the machine." I tried the machine and was shocked to find that the print hammer is always pressed against the paper. The print hammer could once.the Paper against the type presses but then it no longer returned to its starting position on its own. Despite the defect, I bought the machine for €80. I've since oiled the print hammer to get it working properly again, and it rarely jams now. Also included is a keyboard typing tutorial, an instruction manual, and a double-sided sheet for troubleshooting Hammond typewriters. All documents are old and original. No copies from the internet. The machine is in very clean and rust-free condition. This is not a real Hammond 2 but a remodel. This means that the Hammond was originally a Hammond 1, 1a or 1b that was sent back to the Hammond factory to be To bring it up to the technical standard of Model 2. Now I don't know whether collectors who also own a Hammond Remodel should not put the machine in a separate gallery with the name "Hammond Remodel" and not under the gallery name "Hammond 2" then you could compare the individual conversions of the remodel machines better this is just a suggestion from me but I would welcome it if it would be implemented.

I come from southern Germany and have been collecting historical typewriters for 10 years. I'm interested in the antique machines built before 1945. All machines built after 1945 are not used for collecting but for writing
